  • Equine Muscle Release Therapy - EMRT™

Gillian Brame will be in attendance at the Wynyard ride offering EMRT™ (Equine Muscle Release Therapy) mini sessions for your horse and mini Bowen sessions for riders. These therapies are gentle and non-invasive and are able to be performed before, during and after a ride. I am a fully qualified and registered practitioner. A full session would take about an hour and the horse needs several days rest afterwards, but the mini sessions (also known as bandaids) take only 10 minutes and are used at a ride or event to help the horse and/or rider. EMRT™ works through the central nervous system and is designed to put the body back into alignment on all levels allowing the horse to achieve optimum health and performance. It works on all systems of the body.

Internationally trainers and competitive riders use EMRT™ on a maintenance level to keep their horses supple and balanced. The Australian endurance team used EMRT™ at the World cup in France in 2000 where they won gold. A session consists of gentle, rolling, sequential moves at key points of the body. It re-programs the body to its natural state of health on the physical, bio-energetic and mental/emotional levels. Physically this allows the tissues to return to their flexible state and for natural muscular, circulatory and neural activity to resume. the result of EMRT™ is better performance and a happier horse! EMRT™ does not replace veterinary care, practitioners work in conjunction with vets.

EMRT™ relaxes and calms your horse which is very important as a stressed or over agitated horse won't eat or drink properly which makes them more prone to GIT/metabolic disorders, therefore the calmer your horse is the more energy efficient they will be. Endurance riding places a huge strain on the muscular/skeletal and GIT systems, in fact all systems of the body. EMRT™ releases tight muscles preventing further damage out on the track.

As for riders if your body is out of alignment your horse will feel it and compensate creating more problems. If you have a sore back, shoulders, neck, knees, ankles, wrists etc. I can perform some Bowen therapy on you to help get you through the ride! It is gentle and effective!

My fee for the mini treatments will be $10, the mini treatments are very effective! Even if your horse does not have a problem it is a great preventative and can be done before, during or after the ride. I will be on site on the Friday afternoon and all day on Saturday. For more info call me on 64376148. See you there! Gill Brame.
